Dr Matt Flavel is the Chief Scientist at The Product Makers (TPM), a multi-national flavour and bioactive company. Whilst at TPM, Matt has contributed to the development and commercialisation of a range of patented, bioactive sugarcane extracts from benchtop discovery, through to real-world impact. This success has been made possible via a global network of collaborations, which now includes the HyTECH ARC Training Centre. Matt publishes research across a wide range of scientific disciplines; however this diverse research interest is connected via a common purpose of seeking practical and sustainable solutions to improve the quality of life for all animals (including humans).

Dr. Ervia Yudiati, M.Sc. adalah akademisi dan peneliti dari Diponegoro University dengan bidang keahlian pada ilmu kelautan, ekologi pesisir, dan pemanfaatan sumber daya hayati laut. Fokus penelitian beliau mencakup biodiversitas dan konservasi ekosistem pesisir, khususnya pengembangan dan pemanfaatan sumber daya laut secara berkelanjutan.

Chairman, Indonesian Aquaculture Society (MAI)

Prof. Dr. Ir. Rokhmin Dahuri, M.S. adalah salah satu tokoh terkemuka Indonesia di bidang kelautan, perikanan, dan pembangunan ekonomi biru. Beliau merupakan akademisi dan pakar pengelolaan sumber daya pesisir dan laut, serta pernah menjabat sebagai Menteri Kelautan dan Perikanan Republik Indonesia periode 2001–2004.

Dengan pengalaman lebih dari tiga dekade, Prof. Rokhmin Dahuri aktif mendorong pembangunan perikanan dan akuakultur yang berkelanjutan, pengelolaan sumber daya kelautan, serta penguatan ekonomi biru untuk kesejahteraan masyarakat dan pembangunan Indonesia.

SECRETARY GENERAL of MAI

Dr. Romi Novriadi is an expert in sustainable and responsible aquaculture production with over 20 years of experience. Romi has served as the Director for the World Aquaculture Society – Asia Pacific chapter, and recently, Romi served as a Lecturer at the Jakarta Technical University of Fisheries (Known as Politeknik Ahli Usaha Perikanan), as the Secretary General of the Indonesia Aquaculture Society, as Global Advisor for the Seafood Consumers Association, and as the Editor in Chief for Media Akuakultur. Romi has published more than 35 peer-reviewed research articles in his area of expertise, including Aquaculture nutrition, shrimp and fish farming, functional feed, immunology, aquaculture technology, and disease management. Dr. Romi focuses on developing an intensive aquaculture farming system and economical aqua-feed, evaluating nutritional requirements for shrimp and fish, and facilitating the evaluation of novel ingredients and feed supplements to enhance the growth and health of aquatic organisms. Dr. Romi also acts as a promoter, linking research institutes with industry to review feed formulations and manufacturing processes, aquaculture management practices, and aquaculture certification, and to identify relevant research to support the sustainability of aquaculture production.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Alim Isnansetyo, M.Sc. is a Professor of Fisheries and Marine Biotechnology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). His expertise encompasses aquatic microbiology, fish diseases, fish health management, aquaculture, and bioactive natural products, with extensive research focusing on sustainable approaches to improving aquatic animal health and aquaculture productivity.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Yushinta Fujaya, M.Si. is a Professor at the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), specializing in fish reproduction, aquaculture, and crustacean biology. Her research focuses particularly on blue swimming crab and mangrove crab reproduction, hatchery technology, aquaculture development, and sustainable fisheries management. She leads the Tropical Crab Research Group (TRG) at Hasanuddin University and has extensive experience in national and international research and scientific forums.

Prof. Agus Trianto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. is a Professor at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University (UNDIP), specializing in Marine Biotechnology and Chemical Ecology. His research focuses on the exploration of marine bioactive compounds, marine microorganisms, biodiversity, and sustainable utilization of marine biological resources, with particular interest in bioactive compounds derived from marine organisms and their associated microorganisms. He currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University (2024–2029).

Mr. Chen Wen Li is an aquaculture professional at Alltech, with experience in the Asian aquaculture industry. His professional interests and activities focus on aquaculture nutrition, shrimp production, aquatic animal health, and emerging aquatic diseases. He has an academic background from National Taiwan Ocean University and has been involved in regional aquaculture initiatives and scientific activities across Southeast Asia.

Alex Wang, Ph.D

Alex Wang, Ph.D. is a molecular biology and aquaculture technology professional with extensive experience in IVD, molecular diagnostics, shrimp health, and aquatic disease detection. He has been involved in the development and promotion of molecular diagnostic solutions for aquaculture, including PCR-based detection and automated testing technologies for shrimp pathogens. He is currently associated with RayKol Instrument Group, a Xiamen-based company specializing in laboratory automation, sample preparation, and analytical technologies.

Mr. Michael Anthony Sugama is an Indonesian shrimp farmer with practical experience in shrimp aquaculture and farm management. His perspective as a practitioner provides valuable insights into the real-world challenges and opportunities of Indonesia’s shrimp farming industry, particularly in relation to production efficiency, farm management, sustainability, and the adoption of innovative aquaculture technologies.

Falasifah, S.Si. is the CEO of PT Alga Bioteknologi Indonesia (ALBITEC) and an entrepreneur specializing in microalgae biotechnology and sustainable production. As an alumna of Universitas Diponegoro, she has developed ALBITEC into a microalgae-focused enterprise working on Spirulina cultivation, processing, and applications for food, nutraceuticals, feed, cosmetics, and agriculture. Her work highlights the potential of microalgae biotechnology for sustainable industry and blue-green economic development.

Mrs. Mila Ayu Ambarsari, S.Pi., M.Si.

Mrs. Mila Ayu Ambarsari, S.Pi., M.Si. is an aquaculture professional specializing in shrimp health, water quality management, disease prevention, and sustainable shrimp farming. Her expertise includes shrimp immune responses, probiotics, microalgae, and Vibrio disease management. She has been actively involved in Indonesia’s shrimp industry through Shrimp Club Indonesia and technical initiatives supporting the development of sustainable shrimp farming

Mr. Dan Fegan

Mr. Dan Fegan

Dan Fegan is a highly experienced aquaculture professional with more than 40 years of experience in the global shrimp industry. His expertise covers hatchery and nursery production, shrimp health management, nutrition, genetics, farm management, technical support, and farmer training.

Throughout his career, Dan has held technical and management roles with leading aquaculture organizations, including Aquastar, BIOTEC Thailand, Alltech Aqua, Cargill, and SyAqua. His work has involved shrimp production, biotechnology, feed and nutrition, disease diagnostics, genetics, technical consulting, and the development of aquaculture technologies.

Dan has also served in leadership roles within the World Aquaculture Society (WAS), including Director and President of WAS and President of the Asian Pacific Chapter (WAS-APC). He has contributed to numerous scientific and technical committees and international aquaculture programs.

Since late 2025, Dan has served as a Technical Consultant at I&V Bio, Thailand, supporting product development and providing technical expertise to I&V Bio teams and customers worldwide, with a particular focus on shrimp production and early nutrition.
His extensive experience across different sectors of the shrimp industry makes him a valuable international expert in advancing sustainable, efficient, and science-based aquaculture
